Accelerated Reader
Once children are confident early readers we move away from a reading scheme and enable the children to choose and read books for themselves. To support and guide them towards books that are both age appropriate and within the child's reading ability we use Accelerated Reader.
Each child has a range of books to choose from. When they have read a book they answer a short series of questions (Quiz) to help school to monitor how well they have understood and retained that understanding of the book.
